The public is surprisingly shocked again by Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee’s extreme radical Christian view point on policies. Most candidates at least attempt to hide that fact that their religion or race play, or will play, a major role in their policies as president, and as any other public leader. Mike Huckabee though is not bashful to admit this fact, and even took it a step further in an interview with Beliefnet.com.

The interviewer asked Huckabee “Is it your goal to bring the Constitution into strict conformity with the Bible? Some people would consider that a kind of dangerous undertaking, particularly given the variety of biblical interpretations.”

Huckabee responded with a well thought out radical Christian reply….”Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what’s been historic.”

OK….. First of all-did Huckabee actually compare Homosexuality and polygamy to pedophilia and bestiality??!! This guy is nuts. For starters, Huckabee should know that most people historically-Bible text included- had more than one wife. It is only in more recent history that monogamy has become the norm. If Huckabee is concerned with changing what’s historic, he needs to look behind the door and past what information people are telling him. Regarding homosexuality, of course they have existed historically and especially prevalent in the religion to which Huckabee belongs. In Davenport-Hines R. Sex, death and punishment- the authors write that “Religious objections to same sex attraction between men have existed since at least the Middle Ages.” Thus proving my point that Homosexuality existed historically.

Mike Huckabee should be more careful before ranting and making statements that are completely unsubstantiated. He should also be careful about his radical religion playing such a big role in his policies.
