Attempting to appease and calm voters, especially all those African-Americans in South Carolina, Hillary Clinton showed up to a Martin Luther King Observance in Manhattan on Monday. Her presence there reminded people of her previous comment that Dr. King’s dream of racial equality was realized only after President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Although she clapped and looked calm, events like this are important for her to score a victory in South Carolina where about half the voters are black. Also at the event were lots of Obama fans cheering and showing their support for an African-American president.
