Mike Huckabee’s big problem

While it is a mystery what if any role Huckabee had in Wayne Dumond a convicted rapists parole, facts don’t matter in elections nearly as much as rumors.

Here are the facts.

Wayne Dumond is convicted of raping a woman connected to Clinton both thorugh contributions and family while Clinton was governor of Arkansas in 1985
He was sentenced to life in prison
in 1992 Clinton’s successor Jim Guy Tucker reduced the sentence to 39 years making Dumond eligible for parole
In 1996, Huckabee now governor, considers commuting Dumond’s sentence to time served but withdrew that request after a public outcry
According to the Kansas City Star, Huckabee wrote a letter recommending Dumond for parole in 1997 and he was actually paroled a year later.
In 2005, Dumond was convicted of the rape and murder of a woman in Missouri and he died in prison

Whatever the facts of this story is, this will make for some great attack ads.
