A few weeks ago I posted and discussed the issue of Barack Obama’s refusal to wear an America Flag on his lapel, now his wife is showing her true colors as well. Michelle Obama told a Milwaukee audience on Monday “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country. Not just because Barack is doing well, but I think people are hungry for change.”

This is the first time she is proud of her country?!?! I would take this statement to be completely selfish, though it’s so idiotic I am not even sure how to react. Michelle Obama is saying that until her husband ran for president she had nothing to be proud of her country about? For those who questioned the patriotism of Barack, and questioned his resistance to wearing the American flag, look no further than his ‘rock.’ Michelle Obama has made it clear that she keeps Obama grounded on many issues, and if patriotism is one of them, this man can not be our president.

In response to Michele’s comments, Cindy McCain, McCain’s wife, days later responded by saying, “I have, and always will be, proud of my country.” Of course Obama jumped in and said something the Obama camp has been saying in response to all negative media attention, “it has been taken out of context,” but that’s no excuse. Even if Michelle “was talking about politics in the United States, not the country itself,” as MSNBC reports the Obamas as saying, the statement is still unacceptable for a future first lady.

Her statement is telling the American public that no one else but her husband has it right, and never did-words that are not to be taken lightly. In view of this selfish statement and obvious lack of patriotism, Barack Obama should consider putting that flag back on his chest. I don’t care how may liberals there are in this country, I have faith that everyone wants to elect someone who can openly display their patriotism and always feel proud of the county they belong to (even if they disagree with a few policies.)
