Wanna-be president ( and former vice president) Al Gore has a produced a video on current TV encouraging political leaders to stand behind laws which will allow homosexuals to marry. In the video he states, “Gay men and women ought to have the same rights as heterosexual men and women — to make contracts, to have hospital visiting rights, to join together in marriage, and I don’t understand why it is considered by some people to be a threat to heterosexual marriage. Shouldn’t we be promoting the kind of faithfulness and loyalty to ones partner regardless of sexual orientation?”

This video is important because no Democratic candidate has actually stated that they would attempt to change the law if elected. The candidates have skirted around the issue such as Obama lecturing to a church on Homophobia and Elizabeth Edwards’ support for same-sex marriage. Many people feel that Barack Omaba has been the most open to the idea of gay marriage, and feel that Gore should be supporting Obama for president. On Politico.com, after the article discussing the Gore video, the folks on the discussion boards speak of Gore’s possible support for Obama. Despite the talk, the facts are yet to be seen….
